Julia Barretto talked about her reunion project with Joshua Garcia
Actress Julia Barretto has this message to JoshLia fans who waited for her reunion project with her ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia.
Julia and Joshua, known as the JoshLia tandem, first worked together on the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Vince and Kath and James. A year after that, they did the romantic drama film Love You to the Stars and Back. The last project they did was the 2020 horror thriller movie Block Z.
Julia and Joshua’s relationship went beyond the onscreen partnership. They dated for two years and confirmed their breakup in 2019.
In an interview, based on the article in PUSH, Julia Barretto said that she is excited to share the same frame again with Joshua Garcia. She shared that this reunion project, the movie Un/happy For You, with her ex-boyfriend went through a lot.
Julia said that during the pandemic, they already had several meetings about this. The story evolved and for her, everything boils down to the right time and the right script. She believed that they would know if the project was already at the right time.
In this project, Julia also reunited with director Peterson Vargas and Kookai Labayen who she was able to work before. The actress said that this is a great opportunity to make their bond even closer.
Julia also thanked her and Joshua’s fans for being supportive of them until now. “Grabe din yung pinagdaanan nila. So nagpapasalamt kami. We’re so grateful, guys, kasi never kayo nag-give up,” she said.
The actress appreciated that their fans never stopped supporting them even though they had been doing separate projects. She hopes that this JoshLia project will bring happiness to their fans. Julia Barretto also said that she and Joshua Garcia did not expect this to happen, so this is a special one.
