GERALD ANDERSON – The Kapamilya actor along with good samaritans come to rescue a stranded family amid the floods.
Typhoon Carina has been turning streets into rivers and based on a previous article, the topic about Ondoy was revived on X (formerly Twitter) because of the current typhoon. Ondoy happened in 2009 and in just 12 hours it poured a month amount of rain all over Manila and Central Luzon.
Ondoy claimed hundreds of life and with Carina, people online remembered the devastation of the past typhoon. The house of Ninong Ry was also not spared of the severe flooding.
Metro Manila is now under state of calamity and based on the latest bulletin from PAGASA, Tropical cyclone Carina has become even stronger and is now Super Typhoon. At 4 PM, the center was spotted 380 km north of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 230 km/h.
Signal No. 2 was declared over Batanes while Signal No. 1 was declared in these areas:
- Babuyan Islands
- the northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes, Sanchez-Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
- the northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Burgos, Bangui, Pagudpud, Dumalneg, Adams)
Amid the heavy flooding, a video of Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson was circulating online. He and the other good samaritans, as seen in the video, were rescuing a family stranded due to the heavy flooding.
This was at Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City and amid the chaos of the heavy monsoon rains. He was carrying a child to safety and netizens commended the goodness of his heart. It can be recalled that ever since Ondoy, the Kapamilya actor has always been the first one to help other people in the middle of calamities such as this.
