Julia Montes talked about her teleserye comeback
Kapamilya actress Julia Montes said that the series Saving Grace, for her TV comeback, is very important for her and this is the reason behind this.
Julia’s last appearance in a TV series was in Ang Probinsyano in 2021. After a couple of years, the actress is back with a much-awaited project. To officially launch her TV comeback, Julia was interviewed by ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.
Julia shared that Saving Grace is the last project that she and the late Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal talked about and because of this, the project is so special for her. It is a Philippine adaptation of the hit 2010 Japanese series, Mother.
The story is about an elementary school teacher who witnesses the abuse done by a mother to one of her students. This prompted her maternal instincts and she decided to take the student under her care.
The actress also shared that this series was planned to be grand and she boasted about the story and the lessons that the viewers can get.
Julia Montes mentioned how the title of the song is somehow related to her. “Special sa akin kasi parang, siguro, tanggalin natin yung ‘grace’ sa title, ‘Saving Mara (her real name)’. Sinave ako ni Sir Deo… in many ways, personal, career,” she said.
The actress got emotional recalling the bond she had with the late Dreamscape executive. She said that Deo was one of the people who really believed in her and in what she could do.
Julia recalled that she did not expect that Deo would give her the role of Clara in the remake of the hit series Mara Clara. She said that Deo would always remind her that she could do it but it is different now that he is gone.
The actress also shared that she has been doubting herself if she could make a comeback. She had fear and she would question herself if she could do it. On the other hand, having a conversation with the late Dreamscape executive, changed her perspective.
“Pero nung nakausap ko nga si Sir Deo, sabi niya, ‘Gawin mo ito. It’s for you.’ Na-kampante na ‘ko kasi siya ‘yung… nandiyan naman siya lagi,” the emotional Julia Montes shared.
