Here’s a trailer of Pulang Araw, a star-studded series from GMA.

PULANG ARAW TRAILER – A trailer has been released giving viewers an overview of the story and the introduction of the full cast.

The latest offering of the GMA dubbed as “the most important Philippine drama series of 2024” is Pulang Araw. This series is set in the time of the World War 2 during the periods when Japanese and Americans occupied the Philippines.

This series focuses on the connected lives of four childhood friends: Adelina, Teresita, Hiroshi, and Eduardo. Apart from their intertwined stories, Pulang Araw also narrates the untold stories of Filipinos during this period when war ravaged the country.

It will also tell the story of self-discovery and resilience of the characters.

The cast

Barbie Forteza as Adelina Dela Cruz. She is the younger sister of Eduardo Dela Cruz and just like his brother, she hates the Americans. When the war broke out, she sided with the Japanese. She dreams to become a successful performer.

Alden Richards as Eduardo Dela Cruz. He hates his American father as he abused his mother. He is a caring brother for Adelina and has feelings for Teresita. During the war, he joined the guerillas siding neither with the Americans nor the Japanese.

Sanya Lopez as Teresita Borromeo. Her dream is to become a vaudeville star and she has feelings with Eduardo.

David Licauco as Hiroshi Tanaka. He is a child of Japanese immigrants. The four of them are friends but at a young age, he needed to return to Japan to study.

The main antagonist of the series is Dennis Trillo, he is Col. Yuta Saitoh, a high-ranking Japanese soldier. He is a Japanese imperial army officer who has a mission to conquer the Philippines. He fell in love with Teresita.

The other cast are Rochelle Pangilinan as Amalia Dimalanta-Torres, Neil Ryan Sese as her husband Lauro Torres, Ashley Ortega as nun Manuela Apolonio, Angelu De Leon and Epy Quizon as Carmela and Julio Borromeo, and many others.

Julie Anne San Jose, Derrick Monasterio, Isay Alvarez, Rabiya Mateo, Jackie Woo, Maria Ozawa, Billy Ray Gallon, and Rhian Ramos will have special participation in the series.
