In an interview, Bea Alonzo thinks she has to thank Dominic Roque for this.
It’s been months since Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque separated and the actress thinks she has to thank him for doing this.
Actress Bea Alonzo recently opened up a bit more about her split with actor Dominic Roque. She also spoke a few more about the end of their engagement which was announced earlier this year.
Appearing in the covers of the special July edition of Tatler Philippines magazine, she talked about the split. According to her, the decision was not made overnight. It was a process and based on a previous article, Bea and Dom tried to patch things up.
They tried to sort things out between them and although it was not her who initiated the split, it was their mutual decision to call it quits. She believed that some relationships just don’t work and it’s just fine.
She also added that she has to thank him for recognizing that there’s something wrong. He was courageous in pointing it out because if it was just her, she would be “carried away by the pressures of society”.
“I guess I also have to thank him because had he not been courageous enough actually to acknowledge that there was something wrong in our relationship, I may have continued to be carried away by the pressures of society,” she said.
By speaking about pressures, she is referring to being the pronatalist of the country as women her age are expected to be married already and have children already.
No one is to blame for their decision to split but she is aware of how some people put the blame on her and this is painful. It’s still rampant in the society to always blame the women whenever a relationship ends.
People online, most especially, were quick to speculate that perhaps the woman is not doing enough resulting in their male partner to cheat. Some would also create a story like a woman is too jealous the reason why the man left her for another girl.
