Piolo Pascual is well-loved for his romantic-comedy films, will he be retiring soon from this kind of movie?
One of the best leading men of the PH show business industry is ABS-CBN artist Piolo Pascual. Apart from the serious roles he did in the past, he is well-loved for his romantic-comedy films.
Some of his rom-com films are Starting Over Again, Bakit Di Totohanin, I Think I’m In Love, Dreamboy, Every Breath U Take, Relak It’s Just Pag-ibig, and many more.
However, just recently, the roles he’s been doing in films is no longer the leading man roles. He’s been accepting serious roles which made some people wonder and ask if he’s putting an end in making rom-com films.
In an interview, he was asked about this and according to him, he won’t stop. He is not seeing himself retiring from making films with love story genre as he believes that people can become romantic regardless of age.
“No. I don’t think that I’ll ever graduate doing rom-com’s. Because, ‘yung genre natin, kinalakihan natin iyan eh’, and that’s timeless eh, no matter how old you are, you can always be romantic, you can always do a love story,” he said.
Previously, the Kapamilya actor did three roles in one movie, Mallari where he won Best Actor award from the FAMAS Awards 2024. He is also a part of the award-winning film Gomburza, and as of now, he is Rafael Sagrado, a corrupt public official in the series Pamilya Sagrado.
He seems to be enjoying the serious roles but as he mentioned above, he does not see himself graduating from doing romantic-comedy films. He’s just happy that he gets to portray different roles. The roles are just offered to him. He takes no control in choosing the roles given to him.
