Parked Truck Loses Fuel to ‘Sipsip-Diesel’ Modus in Fairview, Quezon City

Parked Truck Victimized ‘Sipsip-Diesel’ Modus in Quezon City

A parked truck became the latest victim of the so-called sipsip-diesel modus in Fairview, Quezon City.

On March 31, 2026, a parked truck loses fuel to the so-called sipsip-diesel modus after a group of suspects stole around 70 liters of fuel, worth about P10,000. The incident was caught on CCTV.

In the video, a car can be seen pulling up beside the truck. A man then stepped out and quickly tampered with the vehicle’s fuel tank. Within a short time, the suspects were able to drain a large amount of diesel before leaving the area unnoticed.

Truck owner Ian Lopez Dilay shared that the driver discovered the problem at around 2 AM when the fuel gauge suddenly dropped close to empty. The truck had just been fully refueled earlier that day.

“Talagang sinagad namin ’yan kasi nga magtataas na ng diesel the next day. So pagka-tingin niya doon sa mismong physical tank, wasak na ‘yung… pinaka-fuel cap niya eh… kumbaga sinimot,” Dilay said.

Upon checking the tank, they found that the fuel cap had been damaged and the diesel had been completely drained.

Authorities from the Quezon City Police District believe that two to three suspects were involved in the crime. The stolen diesel was likely transferred into containers or gallons during the operation.

Brigadier General Randy Glenn Silvio, director of the district police, confirmed that a special investigation team has already been formed to focus on the case. Police are now reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and locate the suspects as soon as possible.

The incident caused delays in the truck owner’s delivery of meat supplies to customers that day. He expressed frustration over the loss, noting that rising fuel prices are already a challenge for businesses like theirs.

The truck owner is now calling on the suspects to surrender, return what was stolen, and take responsibility for the damage caused.
