This is what Vice Ganda said about the canceled event.
ABS-CBN host-actor Vice Ganda is supposed to perform in Pride PH 2024 event but this was canceled due to bad weather.
The 2024 Quezon City Pride festival was cut short. It ended early because of the heavy rain brought by bad weather and this resulted in cancelation of the performances of Vice Ganda, BINI, and other performers.
In a previous article, Vice spoke about the canceled Pride event and he was saddened as well. He explained the reason why it had to be canceled. The heavy rain cut short the “Love Laban 2 Everyone” Pride Night concert leaving the audio and lighting equipment on stage compromised.
Speaking about this event was the superstar comedian who shared that he actually prepared something big in his performance for this event. The Kapamilya host expressed that his excitement was as high as everyone else as this event hold a significant value in his life.
He actually prepared a concert-like performance and spent a lot for this to show how important this event is for him.
“Pinaghandaan ko talaga siya. Ginastusan ko siya. Malala. Parang concert ‘yung ima-mount ko. It’s a protest in a form of a concert,” Vice said.
Supposed to be, he is to perform for 16 minutes. With the time given to him, he has 50 dancers on stage, 30 dancing choir, and full band set up. Also, he prepared to perform five songs with matching five costume changes.
Upon hearing the cancelation, his initial reaction was, “…natulala ako.”
But the life and safety of everyone is on top of everything and he doesn’t want to take a risk. The comedian expressed, “Paano kung may mapahamak, kahit isa lang. May masaktan, magkagulo. Saka ‘yun ang iniiwasan ko ‘yung magkagulo, may mapahamak, hindi natin gusto lahat ‘yun.”
Showtime offered that he can do it in the program but he refused as the performance, props, and other things to use in the performance are meant for the outdoor use.
