PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that habagat will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (June 22, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Habagat will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James E. Villamil reported that southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

“Makikita natin dito sa ating latest satellite image ang mga kaulapan sa western section ng ating bansa ay ang patuloy na epekto ng hanging habagat sa kanlurang bahagi ng Northern Luzon, compared sa mga nakaraang araw ay nabawasan ang mga areas nakaranas ng patuloy na mga pag-ulan,” Villamil said.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.

“Asahan pa rin natin ang kalat kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat dito sa western section ng Luzon at Visayas,” he added.

Habagat will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the rest of MIMAROPA, Zambales, and Bataan.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western sections of Luzon and Visayas and the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate.

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any of the country’s seaboard.
