On June 13, 2024 (Thursday), a minor disagreement between two young boys over a toy bicycle resulted in a tragic incident in Sitio Tindahan Lower Can-asujan, Barangay Can-asujan. The tragedy left one woman dead and another facing serious charges.
The conflict started when a five-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy engaged in a dispute over a toy bicycle, with one child allegedly bumping the other with the bicycle.
Instead of resolving the matter calmly, the mothers of the two boys engaged in an argument, taking sides with their respective children. The 29-year-old mother of the younger boy and the 39-year-old mother of the older boy have an exchange of heated arguments.
The argument reached a critical point when the 39-year-old mother allegedly insulted the younger mother by calling her “bigaon,” an offensive term. Prompting the 29-year-old mother grabbed a knife and stabbed the other woman.
The wounded mother was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The female suspect was arrested and is currently in custody.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining composure and seeking peaceful resolutions, even in the face of intense conflicts.
