25-Year-Old Guy Lost His Life After Being Stabbed Over P100 Dispute
A 25-year-old guy identified as Angelo Rodriguez, also known as “Elok,” was stabbed to death due to a dispute over P100.
According to police reports, Elok, a newcomer to the area, was chased with a knife by his assailant known only as “Hapon.” They were initially separated by barangay officials, but after a few minutes, Elok returned wielding a bladed weapon.
Manila Police District Homicide Section head PCpt. Dennis Turla reported that the suspect retaliated against the person who initially chased him with a knife. He attacked the man from behind.
Elok was rushed to the hospital but lost his life to his wounds sustained from multiple stabbings in various parts of his body. The altercation also left ‘Hapon’ injured and currently recovering in the hospital.
“Nakita ko nakaupo na ‘yung nakaitim na lalaki, duguan. Tapos pagkasabi sakin, ‘Kagawad wala akong kasalanan’. Binitawan na ‘yung kutsilyo saka lupaypay na,” barangay councilor Romulo Enrica of Barangay 369 said.
According to the investigation, the altercation stemmed from a dispute over P100, possibly related to illegal drugs. The suspect claimed that he was initially chased with a knife by the victim after he forcibly took the money.
Turla said that individuals involved are suspected to be connected to the illegal drug trade.
“Siguro drugs nga ‘yun e. Akala nung isa, totoong drugs ‘yun, e candy naibigay kaya doon nagtalo sa halagang P100,” Councilor Enrica said.
The barangay officials also stated that they regularly confront individuals suspected of buying and selling illegal drugs in their area.
“Pinapaalis po namin ‘yan, e sila lang ‘tong makukulit na pumunta rito samin kasi banda roon po, anuhan ng droga e. Bentahan ng droga papunta dun,” explained Councilor Enrica.

The victim’s partner, Nicole Marcelo, revealed that there had been previous threats to his life due to suspected involvement in drugs.
The police are preparing charges against the suspect, who is currently under arrest and being guarded in the hospital. The suspect may also face a homicide complaint, according to Turla.
