IMELDA PAPIN – The newly-appointed director of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office assured that there will be transparency in the PCSO.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, more popularly called PCSO, is one of the biggest government-run entities in the country. It is the legal lottery games operator in the country. Truth be told that a huge part of the Filipino populace are lotto bettors.

However, recently, the PCSO’s credibility is being questioned after a series of bettors winning the multi-million jackpot prizes. The identity of the winners are kept confidential for their safety. The grand prizes of the major lotto games usually don’t go below Php 5 million.

Recently, Philippine President Bongbong Marcos appointed Imelda Papin to be one of the directors of the PCSO. She is a renowned personality in the music industry in the country.

Imelda Papin believes that she is destined to become the PCSO director and she is very happy and excited to be back in public service. She even recalled the moments when an old woman predicted her fate and she had a significant tap from the back by the late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

However, truth be told that the PCSO is surrounded by controversy. Based on an article on Pep, with regards to it, Imelda Papin assured that “there will be transparency this time”. She also encouraged the people to play lotto explaing that it is charity work.

“Charity work to, di ba, makakatulong ito. Ang balik po nito ay kawanggawa. Dapat maging malinaw sa isip ng tao yun… Mas malaki ang maitutulong ng PCSO sa Php 20 or Php 100,” the singer said.

Imelda Papin stressed that she will focus on helping the Filipinos who are in need. She is not bother by the controversial issues against PCSO saying that the problems can be fixed.

“Hindi naman siguro nawawala. Hindi naman permanent lahat ng problema… Ang lahat ng problems, nabibigyan ng solusyon,” she said.

Imelda also called on the public to help her and support her now that she’s in the government. Based on the article, she stressed that being the PCSO director is a “very sensitive position” as the lotto body is surrounded by a lot of issues right now.

According to the singer, she will not think politics right now. She vowed to improve the releasing of the medical assistance. She is eyeing for a 3-hour release of the assistance as long as there is a complete set of requirements and the application has been approved.
