Chito Miranda Gives Up Being A Coach For Parokya Ni Edgar

Chito Miranda will no longer be part of ‘The Voice Kids’

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda gave up being a coach for his band and prioritized his role as a vocalist.

Chito and his band created a remarkable path in the music industry. After almost three decades, they continue doing what they love to do, creating music and performing before their fans.

In recent years, Chito was also known as a mentor or coach for aspiring artists when he became one of the judges/mentors of ABS-CBN’s Idol Philippines. Then, a recent coaching stint he was in was The Voice Generations on GMA.

However, it appeared that Chito Miranda will no longer be part of the next season of the singing competition, The Voice Kids.

In his recent Facebook post, the band vocalist shared a big decision that he made in his life. He said that he enjoyed being a coach, both in Idol Philippines and The Voice Generations.

Chito also loved the moments he had with his fellow coaches and the bond he was able to create with them. He is thankful for that opportunity. However, he decided to give up on his coaching stint because of his band.

“Pero, kahit sobrang solid ng experience, the schedule takes too much time away from my band. Dami ko kelangan i-give up na gigs, and ayoko maging unfair sa mga kabanda ko,” he said.

The band vocalist also said that if he is only thinking about himself, he will remain doing the coaching stint and earn money to provide for his family but with his band, he and his bandmates will be able to earn for their families.

I could continue doing TV shows and make money for myself and my family, or I could prioritize our gigs instead, and make enough money for everyone on our team, including their families,” he shared.

Chito Miranda also stressed that playing in gigs has become part of their lives, this is who they are and this is what they love to do. One more thing he shared was that, in their band, they control their schedules unlike on TV with different schedules.

“And right now, nasa point ako ng buhay ko na mas trip ko na tumambay lang kasama ng pamilya ko, at tumugtog kasama ng mga kabanda ko. Walang iwanan sa Parokya,” he added.
