YouTuber Charged For ‘Crazy Stupid’ Stunt

YOUTUBER – In a “crazy stupid” video, a YouTuber is accused of using a helicopter to launch fireworks at a Lamborghini that was speeding. The person has been taken into custody.

A YouTuber who reportedly directed a helicopter to launch fireworks at a speeding Lamborghini for a “crazy stupid” video has been arrested in California, US prosecutors announced on Thursday. Suk Min Choi, also known as Alex Choi, has nearly 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, which showcases “the greatest car shenanigans!”

However, the 24-year-old’s fireworks stunt, filmed on a dry California lake bed last summer, led to him being charged with “causing the placement of an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft.”

If found guilty, Choi could face up to 10 years in federal prison. In the video titled “Destroying a Lamborghini with Fireworks,” Choi allegedly presses a “fire missiles” button while two women in a helicopter launch fireworks at a speeding Lamborghini sports car.

Behind-the-scenes footage shows Choi allegedly coordinating the shoot, according to the affidavit.

He also expresses gratitude to a camera company for “being a part of my crazy stupid ideas.”

The 11-minute video appears to have been removed from Choi’s YouTube channel. The helicopter was flying close to the ground and without filming permits, according to a Department of Justice press release.

Choi is believed to have bought the fireworks in Nevada, where they are legal, as they are banned in California. According to the report, he was set to make his initial appearance at a Los Angeles court on Thursday, with his arraignment to follow in the coming weeks.
