Authorities Arrest Fake Lawyer Arrested Outside Courtroom
The police authorities arrested a fake lawyer upon leaving the courtroom, leaving him in need of a real lawyer.
A man pretending to be a lawyer was arrested by authorities outside a courtroom after his former “client” filed a complaint against him. The victim reported him to the National Bureau of Investigation, revealing his fraudulent activities.
In the video, NBI agents apprehended the suspect as he exited the courtroom. The agency disclosed that the man had been posing as a lawyer for a considerable time. The name on his government IDs did not match the name he used as a lawyer.
NBI-OTCD head Atty. Jerome Bomediano said that the Supreme Court issued a certification confirming that the roll number the suspect used belonged to someone else. The real owner of the roll number was a lawyer who passed the bar in 1954 and had since passed away.
“Nag-issue si Supreme Court ng certification na yung ginagamit niyang roll number nakapangalan sa ibang tao. Yung ginagamit niya 1954 bar passer pa yun, napakatagal na nun at patay na yung abogado na yun,” said Atty. Bomediano.
The lack of proper identification was a clear indication of the suspect’s fraudulent status. The suspect claimed that a “human error” occurred during the court’s computerization process, leading to the discrepancies in his records.
“Kapag hiningian mo siya ng any ID at certification na talagang lawyer siya wala siyang maipakita,” Bomediano added.
However, the explanation did not satisfy the authorities and the investigation revealed discrepancies in the suspect’s credentials.

The NBI suspects that the man has handled many cases, and they are now investigating the extent of his activities. If it is confirmed that he represented clients in court, the results of those cases could be called into question.
