Ogie Alcasid admitted that he and Regine Velasquez have creative differences
Current OPM (Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit) President Ogie Alcasid shared how he would tell his wife Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez that she is out of tune.
Ogie and Regine are among the pillars of OPM or Original Pilipino Music. Their songs and track records in the Philippine music industry are inspirations to many younger artists. There have been instances that they would work together in shows and performances.
Even though they have been a couple for many years already, Ogie admitted that he and Regine would not always agree on one thing when it comes to their crafts.
During a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, based on the article in Balita, Ogie Alcasid was asked if he and Regine Velasquez have creative differences. The singer-songwriter said, “Oo naman.”
Then, he shared that we would say straightforwardly to his wife that she was not singing the right note. Regine is known for her voice, her superb performances and her high notes.
However, the husband of Regine is not afraid to tell his wife that she is out of tune and this would make the Asia’s Songbird irritated sometimes.
“Naku, sa recording kasi, ako ang lagi niyang technician. Tapos kapag tine-take ko siya tapos hindi niya naaabot or mali ang tono niya, mail. Nakikita ko naiinis na siya, e. ‘Mali, wala ka sa tono.’ Sabi niya: ‘Kilala mo ba kung sino ang kausap mo?’” the singer-songwriter said.
Ogie would answer that he knows who she is and that she is Regine but he would still reiterate that she was “wala sa tono.” On the other hand, he said that he is trying her best to be a better husband to Regine every single day.
In the same interview, Ogie Alcasid also shared that he and Regine Velasquez would have conversations about the younger artists in the industry. They would ponder on their current status in the industry and the newcomers who have been dominating the music scenes. Previously, Regine mentioned in an interview that it is no longer her time.
