PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring generally fair weather over parts of the country.

On Thursday (May 23, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that easterlies will bring cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to parts of the country.

“Sa araw na ito dahil malayo pa rin ang LPA at walang epekto sa ating bansa, magiging maganda at maaliwalas pa rin ang panahon ngayong araw sa Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao,” said Aurelio.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Generally fair weather will prevail throughout the country with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

“Kahit maganda o maaliwalas ang panahon asahan pa rin ang mga isolated na pagulan dahil sa thunderstorms sa bandang hapon o gabi,” he added.

However, PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area located 1,080 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao, outside the Philippine area of responsibility. It is expected to enter the country’s vicinity within Thursday.

The LPA will affect Eastern Visayas and the eastern sections of Luzon. it may intensify into a storm and will be named “Aghon” once it enters PAR.

The weather agency advised the public to take precautionary measures against heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

  • Metro Manila: 27 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 18 to 25 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 26 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 28 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 28 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
