1994 MANILA FILM FESTIVAL SCAM – Veteran talent manager Lolit Solis who admitted to be the mastermind said she’d do it again in another life.
The biggest controversy in the Metro Manila Film Festival or more popularly called MMFF happened in 1994. Talent manager Lolit Solis and several names were dragged in the issue and she admitted to be the mastermind behind the changing of the winners.

LOLIT SOLIS – The veteran Talent Manager expressed the reason why she will do the Manila Film Festival scam again if she will be given another life to live.
Recently, Lolit who is called “Manay” by most individuals in the Philippine entertainment industry most especially her talents celebrated her 77th birthday. Many of the veteran actors and actresses in the showbiz industry attended the birthday party for the talent manager.
The birthday bash of Manay Lolit was held at Oriental Palace restaurant in Morato Avenue, Quezon City. Among those who were present at the event were Christopher de Leon, Tonton Gutierrez, Amy Austria, Lani Mercado, Benjie Paras, and Paolo Contis who made a revelation about Manay Lolit.
Boy Abunda was able to talk to Lolit Solis. Based on a report on Pep, one of the topics during their conversation was the 1994 Manila Film Festival scam that the talent manager said she did not regret doing.
According to the veteran talent manager, the 1994 Manila Film Festival scam was the biggest mistake that she has done but she did not regret it. She stressed that it is through it that she saw people who are willing to defend her.
“Siguro if I will live my life again, gagawin ko uli, yung scam… Akala ko, iiwanan ako ng lahat, di ba?… Kaya yata ako naging lalong salbahe, kasi nakita ko, lahat ng alaga ko, ipinagtanggol ako,” Manay Lolit said.
Lolit Solis admitted that she thought that she would be alone since she did a big mistake but, aside from her talents, there were also reporters and showbiz writers defended her. Based on the article, she stressed that she did not feel alone and she really felt the love of many people.
“Kahit sa showbiz, makakakita ka ng tunay na kaibigan,” the talent manager said.
The 1994 Manila Film Festival scam was the biggest issue that surrounded the MMFF. Manay Lolit admitted being on top of scam that snatched the best actor award from Edu Manzano and the best actress award from Aiko Melendez to give it to Gabby Concepcion and Ruffa Gutierrez.
After the issue, Lolit and Gabby parted ways. Based on the report, among the other individuals who were also involved in the issue, only Nanette Medved was present at the 77th birthday celebration of the talent manager.
