Paolo Contis shared his thoughts about the LGBTQA+ community
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis said that he is against the term “bakla” to be used for people who belong to the LGBTQA+ community.
In Paolo’s new movie Fuchsia Libre, he played the character of a gay wrestler who has been trying to keep his gender identity which created the struggle in his life that brought colors to the film.
In a recent interview on King Of Talk Boy Abunda’s Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk, Paolo shared what he thinks about the term “bakla.”
The Kapuso actor said that he is not in favor of this term. “Ayoko ‘yung term na bakla, we’re all human beings, ganu’n lang kasimple ‘yun. Hindi ko alam kung bakit nagkaroon ng ‘babae,’ ‘lalaki,’ ‘bakla.’ I mean, it’s just too much,” Paolo Contis said.
He shared that he has a lot of friends who belong to the LGBTQA+ community and this is one thing that he learned from them. Paolo stressed that everyone is loving and loving with the desire to be happy.
“Pantay-pantay tayo. ‘Yun lang ang natutunan ko sa mga kaibigan natin LGBTQ+,” the Kapuso actor said, adding that everyone is human and does need to demand respect as for him, everyone just need to be respected. He said that it is a birthright.
Paolo also shared that he is happy and proud of his new movie. He was able to work with Philippine Wrestling Federation and his gay friends in this project.
Previously, the actor revealed that this movie is the reason why he loss weight which was so noticeable. Netizens commented that he looked “matanda” during an online interview because of his drastic weight lose. Paolo Contis that he really prepared physically for his role in Fuchsia Libre. He also stressed that his weight loss was not because he is “nag-aadik.”
