Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera’s Rewind Reached Php 1 Billion Profits?
DINGDONG DANTES – The Kapuso Primetime King and his wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, reacted to the reports that “Rewind” hit Php 1 billion profits.
In 2023, one of the Filipinos movies that gathered countless people in cinemas was Rewind which was top-billed by Dingdong and Marian. It was the reunion movie of the real-life couple after several years when the actress focused on their family. It was directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar.
Rewind was one of the official entries at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and it gained positive critical reception. In the said movie, Dingdong played the character of John, a family man who was given the chance to save his wife, Mary, from an accident and save their deteriorating marriage.
Prior to Mary’s death, John was consumed by his work and his pursuit for promotion — which credited as his goal for his family. However, it made his sweet relationship with his wife turn sour and also made him lose time for their son, Austin.
Dingdong Dantes has always been vocal that he loves working with his wife, Marian Rivera, and he is looking forward to more projects with her. For her part, the Kapuso Primetime Queen is grateful to have worked with her husband who she described was really there for her to assist her.
The 2019 film Hello, Love, Goodbye was the highest-grossing film until January 2024 when Rewind surpassed its records. There are reports that the film of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera have reached Php 1 billion profits.
To this, the celebrity couple say that the total profits is not yet official but what matters more to them is how the public received their movie. Based on a report on Pep, the comments of those who have watched the movie really touches them.
“More than the figures, yung feedback talaga ng tao. Yung parati nating nakukuhang mensahe ng tao, hanggang ngayon yung mga nakapanood sa Netflix, ‘Uy, napanood ko ito, na-touch kami dito sa eksenang ito,'” he said.
According to Marian, some viewers would show them photos of themselves while crying as they watch the film. The Kapuso actress expressed that its priceless for them to have worked on a film that touched the hearts of the viewers.
Currently, Dingdong Dantes is working on a project with former ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio. The Kapuso actor is also elated to be working with one of the pillars in the Philippine entertainment industry.
