Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis is taking the iconic lead role for “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” along with these two actors.

The secret is out and it’s okay! The Pinoy adaptation of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” is pushing through and just recently, the announcement of the project and the cast included have been officially revealed.

In the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN compound, Kapamilya stars such as Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino graced the event and were introduced as the official leads of the PH remake of this famous South Korean series.

This marks the teleserye comeback of the actress and in a previous article, Anne talked about the “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” offer for her. According to her, she easily accepted the project because she knew that it’s a good one. She is a fan of this series and to be offered to do this is an opportunity she could not waste.

“When they first offered to me, it was an instant yes because I so love the original and I couldn’t let it pass,” she said adding that it’s a project that’s worth it for her to leave her family temporarily to shoot.

The lead cast are:

  • Curtis as Emilia “Mia” Hernandez
  • Aquino as Matthew “MatMat” Gonzales
  • Garcia as Patrick “PatPat” Gonzales

This will be directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and the Kapamilya actress expressed that she’s already excited especially on the part how to make this remake become Pinoy.

As for Aquino, he hasn’t watched the series yet but people who are close to him told him that this is a good project. Even his handler encouraged him to not to let go of this project and the character is going to be challenging which he likes as an actor.

Garcia, on the other hand, admitted that the pressure is always there but for now, he is focused on how to give his role justice.

The director also expressed her trust to the actors. She believes that the three of them are good actor and is looking forward to see them bring justice to the roles they were given. This well-loved series also puts a spotlight on mental health awareness.
