Security Guard and Driver Arrested for Threatening to Spreading Woman’s Private Video
CAPAS, TARLAC – The authorities arrested a security guard and a driver threatening to leak a woman’s private video.
The Philippine National Police Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit arrested a security guard and a driver in Capas, Tarlac, for threatening to spread a woman’s private video unless she paid them money.
The suspects offered P18,000 to the female victim in exchange for private videos performing intimate acts. Due to unemployment and the need for money, the victim accepted the indecent proposal.
However, the security guard had been recording her activities without her consent and later used it to extort the victim. He demanded P2,500, threatening to leak the private footage if she did not comply.
PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group spokesperson Police Lieutenant Wallen May Arancillo explained that the victim agreed to the offer because she needed money. “Ang rason po kung bakit kumagat yung biktima ay dahil nangangailangan sila ng pera gawa ng wala rin silang trabaho,” he said.
Faced with the threat of exposure, the victim decided to seek help from the authorities who immediately set up an entrapment operation.
“Lingid sa kaalaman ng biktima nagi-screen recording itong suspek,” said Arancillo.
The Philippine National Police Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit arrested the suspects who were caught in the act, which prevented the possible spread of the compromising video and protected the victim from further harm.
The Tarlac Police Station is now detaining the suspects. They are charged with several offenses, such as violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, as well as robbery with violence or intimidation of persons.
The incident may serve as a reminder for increased awareness and preventive measures to protect individuals from similar threats.
