Alden Richards talked about his upcoming TV series

Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards said that his role in the upcoming Kapuso series Pulang Araw is different because it’s “madumi.”

Alden is one of the most good-looking actors of his generation. For many years, he catered to boy-next-door roles and the ideal leading man characters. However, for his new series, he will showcase another side of him as an actor.

In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Alden shared that GMA will soon reveal the release date of his new legacy series.

In 2014, Alden Richards had his first legacy series titled Illustrado which was inspired by the life of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

This is a very exciting project because after ‘Illustrado,’ this is my legacy serye na nagawa ko in my history as an actor,” the Kapuso star said. Pulang Araw will showcase the events that transpired in the Philippines during the Japanese occupation.

The actor said that their series will highlight how lucky the current generation is for having freedom which was achieved because the past generation sacrificed its freedom. Alden also said that he is very emotionally involved in this project.

The Pambansang Bae will be joined by Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, and Dennis Trillo who will play the kontrabida role in this series.

Alden Richards expressed excitement and happiness for this project because he gets to play a different role from what he has done before.

Ah, kakaiba kasi madumi. I think isa ito sa mga teleserye na hindi ako malinis. Rugged, marumi, always out on the field, nakikipag-bugbugan. You know, out of the typical boy-next-door image, and I’m liking it,” he said, adding that every scene, he has bruises which is not the typical Alden archetype in TV series.
