PAGASA Says 18 Areas Across PH to Experience Dangerous Heat Index Levels
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that 18 areas across the country may have dangerous heat index levels.
On Wednesday (May 8, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that easterlies will continue to affect the country with Metro Manila.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
According to the weather agency, the heat index in Metro Manila will be at an extreme caution level, with temperatures at the Science Garden in Quezon City and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Pasay City station, both at 41 degrees Celsius.
It is recommended that people take preventative measures to avoid heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and cramps.

• Virac (Synop), Catanduanes – 45 degrees Celsius
• Roxas City, Capiz – 45 degrees Celsius
• Guian, Eastern Samar – 45 degrees Celsius
• Aborlan, Palawan – 44 degrees Celsius
• Cuyo, Palawan – 44 degrees Celsius
• Dagupan City, Pangasinan – 43 degrees Celsius
• Bacnotan, La Union – 43 degrees Celsius
• Alabat, Quezon – 43 degrees Celsius
• San Jose, Occidental Mindoro – 43 degrees Celsius
• Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 43 degrees Celsius
• Masbate City, Masbate – 43 degrees Celsius
• Iloilo City, Iloilo – 43 degrees Celsius
• Dumangas, Iloilo – 43 degrees Celsius
• Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – 43 degrees Celsius
• Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Muñoz, Nueva Ecija – 42 degrees Celsius
• Legazpi City, Albay – 42 degrees Celsius
• Central Bicol State University of Agriculture- Pili, Camarines Sur – 42 degrees Celsius
• Cotabato City, Maguindanao – 42 degrees Celsius
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any seaboard of the country.
