Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Surigao del Sur April 15, 2024
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake in Surigao del Sur today, April 15, 2024. Here are the details.
Following the 4.0 magnitude earthquake in Dinagat Islands earlier today, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake that hit Surigao del Sur at 04:17 today has a magnitude of 4.1.
The earthquake today that struck Surigao del Sur, Monday, April 15, 2024, was tectonic in origin.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Surigao del Sur was located at 08.14°North, 127.06°East – 072 km North 81° East of Lingig. It had a depth of focus of 007 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake neither aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was felt at the epicenter of the quake and as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
