Darren Espanto Denies Rumors That He Is Dating Cassy Legaspi
DARREN ESPANTO – Actor and singer Darren Espanto shut down romance rumors between him and actress Cassy Legaspi.
Cassy Legaspi and Darren Espanto have frequently been seen spending quality time together, leading some of their fans to speculate about a potential romantic connection between them.
This speculation was further fueled when Cassy’s mother, actress Carmina Villarroel, expressed admiration for Darren, and Cassy’s father, actor Zoren Legaspi, shared a video featuring Cassy with a man whom netizens believed to be Darren.
In several interviews, Darren Espanto has spoken about the strong bond and affection he shares with Cassy, even recounting details of their trip to Batangas together the previous year. However, in an interview cited by PEP, when questioned about the nature of their relationship, Cassy described their connection as close but difficult to define.
Addressing the online rumors, Darren clarified in a report by ABS-CBN News that he and Cassy are simply best friends who deeply care for each other, dispelling any notions of romantic involvement.
“Best friends talaga. It’s something a lot of people won’t get. Hindi ko alam paano explain pero syempre andun yung pagmamahal namin sa isa’t isa,” he explained.
When questioned about the potential for their friendship to evolve into a romantic relationship, Darren responded, “No, not right now naman.”
Following his debut as a regular host on the daytime show “It’s Showtime,” Darren disclosed his single status when his co-hosts inquired about his relationship status, as per GMA News.
