PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will continue to bring hot weather across the country.

On Monday (April 8, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA specialist Rhea Torres reported that easterlies will continue to affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Easterlies are the warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean.

“We can still expect that hot weather will continue today,” Torres said.

It will continue to bring hot weather across the archipelago. However, chances of rainfall may occur in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Although we are monitoring some cloud (formations), the rainfall will not last for very long, particularly in Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan. Rain may fall around noon but will eventually subside in the afternoon,” she explained.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and/or thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan, Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Similar weather condition is expected over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

No weather systems are expected to bring rainfall in any part of our country. No low-pressure area is forming within or entering the Philippine area of responsibility.

The weather agency warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate. Pagasa did not raise any gale warnings over the country’s seaboards.
