Man Criticized for Brutally Beating Defenseless Kitten
A cruel man was criticized for beating a defenseless kitten to death, the concerned residents lambasted the suspect for his act.
Ram Abenir, a Facebook user, shared a video capturing a heart-wrenching scene in Barangay Olympia, Makati City, where a man mercilessly abused a helpless kitten. The video quickly went viral and garnered various reactions from online users.
In the video, the man can be seen repeatedly striking the cat until it succumbs to its injuries. He even stabbed the poor creature and disposed of it in a trash bin.
The footage captured the actual beating of the kitten as the man was confronted by his neighbors, who attempted to intervene.
“Akala ko po kung ano ‘yung inaano niya sa damuhan. ‘Yun pala po ‘yung pusa nakita ko nag-iiyak. Bigla po akong napatakbo, pinagpapalo na po pala niya, Kukunin ko po sana ‘yung ano (kuting), baka ako naman ‘yung paluin niya. Dugo-dugo na po siya, nakakaawa,” Zielfa Jesura said.
The man returned to the scene multiple times to further harm the feline before discarding its lifeless body in a trash bin. Jesura filed a complaint with the barangay, leading to the apprehension of the suspect by local authorities.
In his defense, the man claimed that he found the kitten and its mother inside their compound. He attempted to drive them away, but the kitten remained outside their house and allegedly scratched him in the eye, causing him to blackout.
“Gusto ko lang talagang paalisin. Hindi ko talaga gustong patayin ‘yung hayop na ‘yun. Kaya lang, wala akong magagawa. Biglang parang kinalmot. Muntik na kong tamaan sa mata e. Kaya nag blackout na ako,” the man explained.
Jocelyn Fernandez, the desk officer of Barangay Olympia, emphasized the importance of seeking assistance from authorities rather than resorting to violence against animals.
The man has been turned over to the police station pending further investigation into the matter.
