In the “Expecially For You” segment of “It’s Showtime, Melanie Marquez helps her daughter Michelle Dee find a new friend.

Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee and her mother, Melanie Marquez, winner of Miss International 1979 made a special appearance in It’s Showtime. They appeared together in the “Expecially For You” segment where Marquez helped her daughter find a new friend.

The mother-daughter duo’s appearance was a much-talked-about topic on various social media platforms. “What’s up Madlang, Filipinas” for Michelle’s greeting to the viewers while “What’s Up, International” came from Melanie.

In this segment, the Searcher is given the opportunity to interact with and interview prospective partners. In the mother-daughter pair, the daughter was the tapped Searcher, and her mother assisted her to find a potential suitor.

Her last relationship was in 2020 and she even quipped during the segment that she is always ready to find the one. Visiting some heartbreaking moments in her previous relationship, she shared that she had a partner who had a new right after they broke up and her other ex-partner would video call with another girl. Adding salt to the wound of the latter story, her friends knew about it and for a time, that partner lived with her.

In the segment, Michelle shared that she wants to date someone who is smart and goal-driven. She expressed, “Do we complement each other? May chemistry ba? Kaya mo ba akong alagaan? Hindi kailangan mayaman, kailangan hardworking.”

The three people presented to her were financial advisor and content creator Kevin Ty, sports broadcaster Martin Javier, and Cebu-based corporate and labor lawyer named Oliver.

The one who ended up being the segment winner was the corporate and labor lawyer Oliver. Melanie also said based on the video, “I really like you because you are a lawyer. I hope you are not a liar…Huwag kang matakot sa akin because I will not judge you. You are not a book.”
