Man Reportedly Lost His Life Due to Heat Stroke
A man suspected of succumbing to heat stroke was found lifeless in Barangay Kaputhaw, Cebu City.
Heat stroke is a serious medical condition that occurs when the body’s core temperature rises to dangerously high levels, usually above 40°C. It is considered a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.
Heat stroke typically happens when the body’s natural cooling mechanisms, such as sweating, are unable to effectively regulate body temperature in hot and humid conditions. This can happen when a person is exposed to high temperatures for an extended period, especially if they are not hydrated or have been engaging in strenuous physical activity.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 2024, a man was found lying unconscious on the sidewalk of Escario Street in Barangay Kaputhaw, Cebu City. The victim, identified as William Go, aged 58, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The authorities are suspecting that Go may have fallen victim to a heat stroke, which ultimately led to his passing. According to Police Senior Master Sergeant Alejandro Tirado of the Abellana Police Station, Go showed no signs of movement when medical responders arrived.
Witnesses reported seeing Go vomiting blood shortly before his death, adding to the suspicion of a heat-related illness. The victim’s body will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have found no evidence of foul play or altercation involving the victim, suggesting that his death may have been due to natural causes.
