Is it true that Nancy McDonie will be a Kapuso soon?
Rumor has it that South Korean star Nancy McDonie will sign a contract with Sparke GMA Artist Center, the talent management company of the Kapuso network.
Back in 2019, Nancy, who was part of the K-pop group Momoland, had a reported project with actor-singer James Reid.
They were supposed to do the series Soulmate in ABS-CBN. However, for the longest time, their fans have been waiting for this but the project did not push through.

An issue between Nancy and James surfaced online back in 2022. They were spotted together and relationship speculations circulated. When the actor-singer was asked about rumors linking him to Nancy, he just said “no comment.”
Years after that supposed project with ABS-CBN, a rumor surfaced that Nancy McDonie would be part of Sparkle. On March 31, the official Instagram page of Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared a teaser of the newest artist that will sign with their company.
In the caption of the post, it said, “From Korea to the Philippines.” “Sparkle is about to get a whole light brighter with this K-pop idol joining its roster of powerhouse and diverse talents,” the teaser stated. This came with a voice clip from the said artist. “Annyeong Sparkle. See you soon,” the female voice said.
A fan account on X, Kapuso United, revealed that this new artist is Nancy. As of this writing, GMA has not officially released yet a statement confirming this.

This was shared on a popular showbiz site and many netizens expressed negative reactions. Apparently, these netizens are not welcoming the K-pop star to be part of the Philippine entertainment industry while some pointed out that GMA already has a lot of artists who are not given opportunities to shine. Here are some comments.
