Mommy Divine and Sarah Geronimo are finally on speaking terms.
Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo revealed in an interview that she and her Mommy Divine are finally now speaking terms.
Divine Geronimo, also known to fans as Mommy Divine is the mother of Popstar royalty Sarah Geronimo. To recall, their relationship met a challenging time when the singer decided to marry actor Matteo Guidicelli.
Sarah and Matteo’s wedding happened on February 2020 and no one from the singer’s family was there in the intimate event.
A “Divine intervention” happened referring to the scene Mommy Divine caused. Since that day, Sarah and Mommy Divine’s relationship faced a hurdle – they drifted apart. They were not on speaking terms but years later, they are finally on good terms. Indeed, time heals all wounds.
All is well now between Sarah and Mommy Divine.
In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, Sarah revealed this good news and she even quipped, “Yes, yes, thank you, Lord.”
According to Sarah, it all started after she received the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards 2024 where she honored her mother. This event was held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California last March 7 and after this, her mother reached out to her.
She stressed, “Totoo naman [na] ang mga mommies po natin ang heroes natin. Our parents ang heroes natin. I love you, ma.”
“Love you ‘Ma. We love our moms,” Guidicelli added.
They might have drifted apart but Sarah did not fail to always reach out to her. She never forget her family even during that difficult time. This reconciliation is actually something many people are looking forward to happen and it has finally happened.
Last Friday, Geronimo was recognized as the Woman of the Year by Billboard Philippines. This recognition came following the Global Force award she received at the Billboard Women in Music which happened weeks ago.
