Details about the DSWD Food Assistance Offer under AICS
DSWD FOOD ASSISTANCE – The social welfare department offers a Food Assistance to Filipinos who are in specific situations.
The Filipinos has several government agencies that they can turn to amid different types of need for financial assistance. One of these is the Department of Social Welfare and Development or more popularly called DSWD.
DSWD has been in the service of the Filipino people for decades already. It has launched several programs that provide cash assistance offers for those who are underprivileged financially.
One of the programs is the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations that offers DSWD Food Assistance. It is open for the following:
- individuals who are taking care of their sick relatives in the hospital
- the grantee(s) of the DSWD Transportation Cash Assistance on his/her/their return to their home province or attendance to court hearings
- individuals who have been rescued
- stranded individuals due to emergency situations
According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the cash assistance may be released through a cash assistance, food packs, or a voucher with a monetary value. The social welfare department may give at least Php 80 per meal per individual.
Under the DSWD Food Assistance offer, up to eight (8) days of food assistance may be extended by the social welfare department to eligible individuals. In applying for the aid, here are the documents required by the state entity:
- valid ID
- Barangay Certificate or Residency / Certificate of Indigency / Certificate that the client is in need of assistance
- Authorization Letter, if applicable
Aside from the Food Assistance offer, the Department of Social Welfare and Development also has several other DSWD cash assistance offers that attend to many other different crisis situations including medical emergencies and death situations.
