Manila Market Worker Arrested by Childhood Friend Policeman for Alleged Drug Dealing
MANILA – A brave policeman arrests his childhood friend working as ‘kargador’ for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
A market worker suspected of proliferating drugs was apprehended by a childhood friend who works as a policeman. The arrest took place in Andres Bukid, where the suspect was reportedly employed as a porter.
The suspect, upon arrest, did not resist and expressed gratitude for being caught. He acknowledged that being apprehended was a wake-up call and an opportunity to turn his life around.
“Pasalamat na lang po ako at nahuli po ako. Mas maganda ‘yung ganito kasi nakakaiwas naman po ako. Para ‘yung kaso ko maayos ko agad,” the suspect said.
According to the police, the suspect failed to attend his court hearing, leading to the issuance of a warrant for his arrest by a judge. It is also suspected that the suspect may have been involved in the illegal drug trade within the market where he worked.
While the suspect admitted to using illegal drugs, he denied accusations of drug dealing. He claimed to only score drugs for personal use and denied any involvement in distribution.
Furthermore, the suspect admitted to associating with his cousin and fellow porters who also engage in drug use. He expressed regret for his actions and the consequences they have brought upon him.
The incident shows the worsening issue of drug trafficking in the country and the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and local residents in combating illegal activities.
