PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (March 9, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

“Patuloy nating mararanasan ang epekto ng Northeast Monsoon dito sa mga areas ng Northern at Central Luzon, Easterlies naman ang iiral na weather system sa nalalabing bahagi ng bansa,” weather specialist Daniel James E. Villamil.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

“Dahil sa amihan makakaranas tayo ng mga kaulapan na may mahihinang mga pag-ulan dito sa silangang bahagi ng eastern section ng Luzon, samantalang itong easterlies naman ay magdadala rin ng mga kalt-kalat na pag-ulan, na may pagkulog at pagkidlat sa silangang bahagi naman ng Visayas at Mindanao,” he explained.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the remaining parts of the country.

“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa kasama ng Metro Manila ay fair weather conditions an gating inaasahan,” Villamil added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea, according to PAGASA.
