Oil Price Hike Expected on Tuesday (February 24, 2026), According to DOE
FUEL PRICE INCREAE – The Department of Energy announced another oil price hike starting Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Motorists will once again feel the impact of rising fuel costs as oil companies roll out another price increase this week. The latest adjustment brings diesel up by more than one peso per liter, adding more strain to drivers and transport operators.
Shell Pilipinas and Seaoil announced that gasoline prices will rise by P0.60 per liter, while diesel and kerosene will both go up by P1.20 per liter.
The new prices will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will follow the same adjustments, although Cleanfuel will implement the increase later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m. Kerosene is not available at some of these stations.
It marks the seventh straight week that gasoline prices have gone up. Diesel and kerosene, meanwhile, are now on their ninth consecutive week of increases. For many drivers, especially those who rely on diesel for public transport and delivery services, the steady rise has become a growing concern.
Just last week, gasoline prices increased by P1.20 per liter, while diesel and kerosene went up by P0.60 per liter each. Since the start of the year, gasoline has already recorded a net increase of P2.40 per liter. Diesel has climbed by P5.40 per liter, while kerosene has gone up by P3.80 per liter.
The Department of Energy had earlier mentioned that global factors such as supply expectations, geopolitical issues, and market movements continue to affect local pump prices. While there were earlier signs of possible mixed price changes, the upward trend continues for now.
