Iloilo City Couple Exchanged Vows in Genshin Impact-Inspired Wedding
A couple in Iloilo City exchanged vows in a wedding ceremony inspired by popular role-playing game, Genshin Impact.
Recently, Winky Palmares-Dignadice, the bride made local gamers happy on a Facebook group dedicated to the game by posting an old photo of their January 2023 wedding invitation. The post quickly circulated online.
Admirers were quickly drawn to the invitation, which was fashioned to immitate a “passport” to the nation of Inazuma in the game.
Winky expressed how Genshin Impact had become an important part of their lives, shaping their journey together as a couple. “The game talaga became a huge part of our lives,” Winky said
The wedding venue featured a Torii Gate installed along the church aisle. Adding to the memorable experience, the bride had an Electro emblem sewn into her wedding dress, which is in line with the game’s elemental themes.
The couple decided to invite their fellow Genshin friends to witness their big day, with some traveling from different cities just to be part of the celebration. One of their in-game friend who failed to attend the wedding sent a heartfelt video message during the ceremony.
“We have friends we met in-game na nasa wedding. At least five are based in Iloilo. One even flew from Quezon City just to attend,” Winky added.
Genshin Impact is an online role-playing game, which was released amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The game quickly earned popularity and provided a source of connection and entertainment for many.
