In the Philippines, the driver’s license-giving body is the Land Transportation Office or more popularly called LTO. It has several branches across the nation that administers the exam for those who want to apply for a driver’s license or those who want to renew their driver’s license.
The Driver’s License issued by the Land Transportation Office, more popularly called LTO, comes with an expiry. It has to be renewed upon its expiry to avoid the LTO fees set due to expired driver’s license violation.
You can renew your LTO Driver’s License in-person. To ensure that you won’t be wasting a lot of time, money, and energy for the process, below, you can check the steps for a smooth flow of the Driver’s License renewal process.
Step 1 — Prepare the requirements.
Prepare all the documentary requirements for the LTO Driver’s License renewal processing. Aside from the Application for Driver’s License (ADL) Form, it is best to already have all the other documentary requirements when you go to a branch of the LTO.
Step 2 — Go to a branch of LTO.
Visit a branch of the Land Transportation Office in your area and ask for a copy of the ADL Form. Accomplish the form with your personal details.
Step 3 — Pay for the renewal fees.
Proceed to the cashier or the payment counter and pay the fees set for the renewal of the LTO Driver’s License.
Step 4 — Take the written examination.
Take the written exam conducted by the LTO. If you failed the exam, you can come back again on another day to retake the exam. If passed, you can proceed to the actual driving test.
Step 5 — Take actual driving test.
If you failed on the actual driving test administered by the Land Transportation Office, you will have to return again on another day to re-apply for a license renewal.
Step 6 — Pay for the fees and the encoding.
Proceed to the cashier for the payment of the fees set by the LTO. After it, proceed to the encoding and biometric window to fill in the form of encoding of complete details in the new LTO-IT system.
