Elderly Man Dies After Being Trapped Inside Own House During Pasay City Fire
An elderly man has lost his life after being trapped in their home during a fire that broke out in Barangay 96, Pasay City.

Recently, a 72-year-old senior citizen identified as Ruben Yabut lost his life after being stuck in their house on Zamora Street. The incident garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to his child, Yabut was bedridden or unable to move after suffering a stroke. Resident Darwin San Miguel attempted to rescue Yabut. However, San Miguel was injured, along with another resident and a fire volunteer.
The fire started around 2 p.m., prompting the Bureau of Fire Protection to raise it to the second alarm. The fire was extinguished after two hours.
According to barangay officials, 48 houses were burned down, displacing around 70 families. The Barangay 96 hall was also consumed by the fire, and several important documents such as financial records, blotter, and logbook were lost.
The fire victims will temporarily stay at Zamora Elementary School. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
