Dennis C. Balagbis, First Recipient of ‘Laptop Para sa Pangarap’ Earns Admiration for Graduating as Cum Laude
Dennis C. Balagbis, the first recipient of ‘Laptop Para sa Pangarap’ has graduated from college cum laude.
Facebook user Teacher Melanie Figueroa from Iligan City is overjoyed because the first recipient of her project ‘Laptop Para sa Pangarap’ Dennis C. Balagbis, has graduated from college with honors, as a “Cum Laude.”
Balagbis completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology on February 2, 2024.
Ma’am Melanie proudly said that Dennis is the reason why she launched her program that helps deserving students who lack financial resources but are intelligent and determined to finish their studies.
“Siya po ang kauna-unahang recipient po. Kung hindi dahil sa kaniya, di po mapapanganak ang ‘Laptop Para sa Pangarap’ na project. Hanga po ako sa kaniya dahil maprinsipyo po siya. Alam niya kung ano ang gusto niya. Responsable na bata at maaasahan. Proud po ako sa kung ano ang narating niya at alam ko na malayo pa ang mararating niya,” the teacher said.
Ma’am Melanie is also known for being a “Santa Claus” to students with wish lists during Christmas. Aside from this, she also launched the “Adopt-a-Student” project. She also helped a student who lost her mother after giving birth to her twins.
Currently, Dennis is busy preparing for the board examinations.
