Back in 2020, a young and hopeful Lyder Kyle tweeted his aspiration to graduate as summa cum laude. At the time, he had just completed his first year as a public health student at the prestigious University of the Philippines Diliman (UP).
Inspired by the posts of UPD graduates who achieved summa cum laude honors, Kyle felt motivated and empowered to set his sights on such an extraordinary achievement.
“Actually, kakatapos lang ng first year ko as a public health student when I tweeted that. Sa UP Diliman kasi, pinopost nila sa FB ang mga graduates na summa cum laude with their undergraduate life stories. As a student na kakatapos lang ng nakakaculture-shock na first year, nakakainspire makabasa ng mga ganon for me kasi nasa adjustment phase pa ako sa UP,” shared Kyle.
Little did he know that his heartfelt manifestation would eventually become a reality. Three years later, with unwavering determination and dedication, Kyle is on the verge of graduating as summa cum laude in the upcoming month.
As a wide-eyed freshman, he dared to dream big, and now he stands on the brink of fulfilling that dream. The diligent student’s journey exemplifies the power of unwavering belief in oneself and the importance of setting high aspirations.
“Sobrang surreal kasi freshie pa lang ako, pangarap ko na ’to. Lagi kong sinasabi na walang masamang mangarap kaya ’pag nangarap ka, taasan mo na,” he added.
