Xian Lim recalled this particular scene in his series with Jennylyn Mercado
Kapuso actor Xian Lim revealed the most difficult scenes he did in the primetime series Love. Die. Repeat. with Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado.
Xian and Jennylyn started shooting this series back in 2021. However, it was postponed because the actress got pregnant. Previously, the actor shared that he was a bit worried that he would be replaced as Jennylyn’s leading man. This was supposed to be his first series as a Kapuso.
In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, he recalled the challenges he went through in doing the most difficult scene he did in the series.
Xian Lim said that it was the scene in which his character Bernard had an accident and died. Since he and his wife, played by Jennylyn Mercado, are in a time loop, this incident kept on repeating.
This scene required a repetitive cycle to be done during the preparation and after the take. “Lalagyan ako ng dugo every take ng bangga. Ang pinakamahirap po doon is ‘yung tatanggalin ‘yung dugo tapos siyempre magmamantsa siya sa balat. ‘Yun lang ‘yung nakakatagal, kaya tumagal po ng ganoon,” Xian shared.
Aside from repeating this scene over and over again, Xian said that they have to endure the hot temperature and the heat from the car. Other outside forces also caused delays such as when times came that it was raining.
Direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng, the director of the series, shared that they were really careful of the details in this scene. He said that the differences in every time loop were on the script and they had just to be careful of the details.
They really worked hard on emphasizing the changes so as the different time loops happened, the viewers could notice them. “Ako, first time ekong mag-direct ng ganitong klaseng show. Challenging, nakaka nerbiyos din noong una,” the director said.
