Julia Barretto did not attend the press conference for her new movie
Actress Julia Barretto answered the speculations that she avoids promoting her movie with seasoned actor Aga Muhlach.
Julia’s new movie Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko with Aga tackles an inconvenient May-December love story. Her character is a member of a choir while Aga’s character is the choir conductor. Julia’s character falls in love with Aga’s character as they spend more time on their one-on-one music lessons.
Previously, the actress shared a post promoting her new movie. She asked the public to give their movie a chance. Her post received negative reactions because of the theme and her leading man.
Since Julia Barretto was not able to attend the press conference for this movie, speculations surfaced that she avoided promoting and talking about this.
In a report by TV5 entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, Julia denied that she did not want to talk about this project. “We love to talk about it,” the actress said, adding that stuff like this should be discussed.
She also said that she acknowledged the feedback that her movie received. The actress pointed out that they make films like these for people to watch and that their opinions matter.
“I will never make iwas a conversation,” she said. Julia stressed that more than the movie’s theme about two people finding romance with a huge age gap, it is a love story born out of genuine love. “I hope that they will be open,” she added. Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko is set to be released in cinemas on February 7.
Meanwhile, Julia Barretto is currently in a relationship with Gerald Anderson. Last Christmas, the actress received an expensive Louis Vuitton gift from the actor. There had been speculations that they would soon tie the knot but the actress’s sister Dani Barretto, talking about Julia and Gerald’s relationship, said that the couple is just enjoying now being together.
