Provo Police Department in Utah reported that they recorded around 13 incidents of fish being taped onto ATMs and other locations. All of these incidents were attributed to a 17-year-old teenager.

The police tallied a total of 13 cases involving fish taped onto ATMs, with additional photos showing three fresh fish taped onto a police car.

However, it remains unclear whether the arrested teenager owns the Instagram account, which began posting in August 2023. As of press time, the last post was dated December 21, 2023.

Similar incidents have been reported not only in America but also in various countries worldwide. The Instagram account showcased the same prank being carried out in Tokyo, Japan; Frankfurt, Germany; Guatemala City, Guatemala; and Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Reports did not mention the motive behind the teenager’s actions. Different types of fish were used in these incidents, including trout, bluegill, bass, catfish, carp, and crappie.

According to police statements reported by ABC4, the teenager faces two counts of property damage under Juvenile Justice and Youth Services.

Police declined to give comments, stating that the case had been resolved since December 2023 and was already progressing.
