The educator, with eight years of teaching experience, shared the difficulties she faced in maintaining order and engagement in her classroom. Despite her efforts to create an interactive learning environment, she felt that her students were indifferent.

The teacher blamed the issues on the current “no-fail policy” and the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Child Protection Policy, which prohibits corporal punishment. The regulations, she claims, have contributed to a lack of consequences for kids, resulting in a disrespect for norms and discipline.

She described how even positive discipline methods failed to influence her students’ behavior. Despite setting rules at the beginning of the school year and trying to be patient and understanding, she observed a growing disrespect among the children.

She also noticed that even second-grade students were displaying inappropriate language and engaging in criminal activities.

Eventually, the teacher concluded her post with a note, stating that she no longer saw the youth as the hope of the nation.
