PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Weather Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the shear line will bring cloudy to rainy weather over parts of the country.
On Thursday (January 11, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting both Northern and Central Luzon while the shear line will affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon.
The shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Quezon.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora. Estareja said that hot and humid weather is expected during midday in Visayas and Mindanao.
The northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over the rest of the country.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
“Mag-ingat sa posibleng pag-baha at pagguho ng lupa lalo na’t minsan lumalakas po ang pag-uulan,” Estareja said.
No weather disturbance is expected to enter the country’s vicinity until the end of the week. “Until the end of this week, we are not expecting any weather disturbance to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility,” he added.
