PAGASA Says Easterlies and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring rains over several parts of the country.
On Wednesday (January 10, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The amihan and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.
Amihan will bring cloudy weather conditions with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
The easterlies and the localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.
Weather specialist Obet Badrina said that generally fair weather is expected over the rest of the country.
“Malaki ang tsansa ng mahihinang pagulan partikular dito sa silangang bahagi ng Northern Luzon, iyan ‘yung Cagayan Valley, habang sa nalalabing bahagi ng bansa, generally fair weather lang po tayo,” Badrina said.
“Posible rin ang light rains sa ilang bahagi dito sa Luzon habang posible ang thunderstorms sa nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao,” he added.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
No low-pressure areas are being monitored inside and outside the Philippine area of Responsibility (PAR). One tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country’s vicinity this month.
