Recently, Airene Legaspi, a Facebook user, shared her disappointment regarding what she claims to be contaminated kwek-kwek sold by a street food vendor in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
In her post, Legaspi expressed her dismay with a shout-out directed at the Silay City Plaza street food vendors. She shared her experience of purchasing kwek-kwek, a popular Filipino street food made from eggs coated in seasoned orange batter and deep-fried.
However, her excitement turned into disappointment when she noticed something disgusting in the food. She described the kwek-kwek as having a damp texture and an unusual smell, suggesting possible contamination.
Legaspi spent 30 pesos on the snack, only to discover what she believed to be an unhygienic preparation of the food. She urged vendors to be more mindful of the cleanliness of their products, especially when catering to customers who wanted a quick meal.
She went on to share her concern about the potential health risks, explaining that she might head straight to the hospital if she consumed the alleged contaminated kwek-kwek.
