Mar Zeus Katigbak, a Facebook user, shared a series of photos showcasing the wishlists of inmates at Pasay City Jail. The post quickly circulated online and elicited reactions from the internet users.
Zeus, disclosed that the pictures were sent to him by his sister-in-law. The photos show the basic needs and desires of those behind bars.
Katigbak explained that although they are currently not in the country, he and his wife continue to assist through his sister-in-law, who resides in Pasay. She visited Pasay City Jail, capturing the photos that Zeus decided to share with the online community.
The pictures were posted to raise awareness and portray the humble requests of inmates, ranging from basic necessities to simple comforts. He took the opportunity to emphasize the stark contrast between the privileges often taken for granted by those outside prison walls.
“Last night, I posted the pictures because I wanted to share with people how fortunate we are on the outside – having proper meals, slippers, bathing soap, pillows, electric fans or fresh air, clothing, and a decent place to sleep,” he said.
The concerned netizen explained that while these individuals may be labeled as criminals, it is important to recognize their humanity and acknowledge their basic needs.
