CUBAO, QUEZON CITY – A male thief who attempted to rob a former MMA fighter inside a condominium building ended up injured.
Patrick Gambe, a former MMA Fighter, and his wife had a transaction with three men. The suspects declared a holdup, leading to an intense confrontation. The victim managed to stop one of the robbers, but the other two managed to escape.

A former MMA fighter beats the man who attempted to rob him at a condominium building in Cubao, Quezon City.
Last Saturday (December 16, 2023), a man who attempted to rob an ex-MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter ended up injured and arrested.
According to PLtCol. June Abrazado, the Station Commander of Cubao police, three men rented a condo unit to conduct a transaction with the victim, Patrick Gambe, a former MMA Fighter, and his wife.
The victims were in the business of selling expensive alcoholic beverages. The suspects allegedly tried to purchase approximately P190,000 worth of alcohol but declared a holdup as soon as the victims arrived.
During the confrontation, one of the suspects shot the victim, but the former MMA fighter managed to stop one of the robbers and land a few punches. Unfortunately, the other two suspects managed to escape.
“According sa ating victim, tinutukan sila ng baril ng dalawang lalaking nakipag-transact sa kanya. And noong about na gagapos na sila, itong victim nila na lalaki happens to be a former MMA fighter,” Abrazado said.
Quezon City Police Station 7 immediately arrested one of the suspects while actively searching for the two who escaped. The authorities the recovered firearm, a restraining rope, and a fake grenade at the crime scene.
According to the police, the modus operandi involved booking a room and targeting businesspeople selling high-end products.
“We believe it is a modus kasi ung mga suspects may dalang panggapos, may fake pellet gun, may totoong baril na ginamit talaga sa panghoholdap at fake grenade. We think prepared itong mga suspects sa gagawin nila,” added Abrazado.
The suspect is now facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, robbery, frustrated murder, and grave threat.
